Fun, Engaging, and Insightful. These are the characteristics of Akzara as implicitly described by a user review in Canada’s iTunes Store.
“I am very impressed with this first stage of AKZARA, a learning application for toddlers. My two year old daughter has received very little explicit instruction for letter sense, but this morning she was very engaged in the initial phoneme information gap format of this visually pleasing app! In our case, my daughter needed some hints to find the right letter to drag and drop, but she watched attentively as the words were spelled in front of her eyes with a jiggling movement of each letter. Very fun! This should really help her learning curve. She also discovered, on her own, that she could touch the individual letters in the animal words and the voice would be activated so that she could hear the letter names on her own terms. She showed a lot of autonomy during her first exposure to AKZARA. The sound effects and the voice for this application are other reasons for this being so interesting for my almost three year old toddler. We loved it!
Parents will love the assessment tool that AKZARA provides. It maps exactly what was done with regards to letter choice and the exact time that was involved. Parents can gauge the progress of their toddler over time. Excellent feature!
I anticipate the next stage will introduce the sounds of the letters being available to experiment with different word families and to follow that stage the introduction of three letter words with short vowels to fill the information gap. I can’t wait AKZARA!”
